Community Ophthalmology

We believe that good vision in childhood should not depend on how easily a family can travel to a hospital. Through our community ophthalmology initiatives, we regularly conduct free and subsidised eye-screening camps in schools, villages and underserved neighbourhoods across the Ambala region, aimed at catching squint, refractive errors and other treatable conditions before they affect a child's schooling or development.

These outreach programs are paired with awareness sessions for parents and teachers, covering simple signs to watch for — such as a child tilting their head, sitting too close to the board, or one eye appearing to drift — that often go unnoticed until a proper screening is done. Children identified with a possible issue during these camps are guided towards further evaluation and, where needed, connected with appropriate treatment and follow-up care.
