Neuro-Ophthalmology

Neuro-ophthalmology deals with vision problems that arise not from the eye itself, but from the nerves and brain pathways that control eye movement and visual processing. In children, this can include conditions affecting the optic nerve, unexplained double vision, abnormal eye movements, or vision loss that isn't explained by a standard eye examination.

Because these conditions sit at the intersection of ophthalmology and neurology, our evaluation often involves a combination of a detailed eye exam, visual field and optic nerve assessment, and where needed, close coordination with pediatric neurologists for imaging or further tests. Our aim is always to identify the root cause accurately, since the right management — whether it's monitoring, glasses, or referral for a broader neurological work-up — depends entirely on getting that diagnosis right.
